We made it!!!!
We are here in Fuzhou! The trip was uneventful but so L-O-N-G! The flight from Chicago to Beijing was delayed by and hour and a half, which really worked out for the best because we had less of a layover in Beijing. Sleeping was hard on the flight but we got enough to get us through. We arrived at our hotel at approximately 1:00 AM Saturday (which was 1:00 PM Atlanta time). That makes a total of 20 hours of travel. We lost an entire day...
The girls did GREAT! Yes, even Analiese...Daddy took care of her, kept her occupied and we have very little drama. Sarah was and continues to be a fantastic help, all of this travel has made her very confident in foreign airports.
Our hotel is nice, everyone is exploring right now while I post. We have adjoinging rooms, our has a wonderful king sized bed. I slept like a baby last night. Right now we aren't feeling too bad from the time change. We'll see how that progresses through the day.
We met our guide, Catherine, last evening. She seems very nice and competent. She brought us some typed answers to questions about Matthew. He sounds like he is ALL BOY! He is healthy and has a good apetite (welcome to the Evans family!). We are told he is happy and excited to be meeting us. I do expect to see some anxiuosness and most likely some tears. However, with the girls he will be kept busy!
We've had breakfast and the girls are loving the choices. I even had some CABBAGE this morning!
We get to meet Matthew at about 3:00 this afternoon. Hopefully I'll be able to post some video of our meeting. We are so excited and just cannot believe the time is here to meet our son!

Oh, we're SO glad that you made it. I can't believe the day is here that you are meeting Matthew!! I can't wait to see/hear all about your meeting, and am thinking of where you guys are every stinkin' hour, since we're not with you :-( I tell the kids, okay, the Evans' just anded in Beijing, the Evans' are at their hotel.... ugh, we MISS you!

Hey guys
So I guess this means you aren't going to make it to Chinese school today?! We are thrilled that you made it and pray, pray, pray that things go smoothly for all of you! Today is one of those "draw a line in the sand" life moments and we are there with you in our thoughts!! Love, The Chapman's
Hoping all is going well. Can't wait to see photos of Matthew with you all!
So glad to see you arrived safely. We were there in August and our guide was Catherine, too. We loved her! She did run through the tours but by the end of the week we were sad to tell her goodbye. Hope you have a great trip! We will be following right along. We adopted Grace(Maizie, CHI list 16A). Tell Catherine the Braxtons said "Hello!" She would remember us by all our kids. We took our other 4 with us to adopt Grace. She said that was the biggest family she had yet. Do you have Bob for a driver? My 5 year old loved Bob. Congratulations and have a great time! We are so happy that Matthew is now with your family.
Tina.....Tina....where are you??
Time to post an update and pix of your new son, Matthew.
By the way, we are truly there with you in spirit. For 2 nights in a row, I've had dreams that, 1st: we were on the plane with you guys, and 2nd: We all safely arrived at the hotel. And even Alan has joined in, as he has his travel bronchitis back - you know, the same that he had when we were all in Florida? He seems to get that when we travel. He has it now at home, and you guys are traveling without us. Coincidence?? I think not!
Now, come on and post!
Love,
Nancy
